Laurajean Schiavello (nee DeFelice), 83, of Ocean City, NJ, formerly of West Chester, passed away October 12, 2018.
Born September 28, 1935 in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Nicola and Mary (nee Deluca) DeFelice.
Laurajean was a graduate of Overbrook High School and Drexel University. She worked as a teacher at Goshen Friends Preschool for over 40 years. She enjoyed spending time at her home in Ocean City, NJ, and taking water aerobics at the Aquatic Fitness Center on Simpson Street. She was a dedicated member of HOPE, Ocean City, NJ, and of the Italian Social Club of Ocean City, NJ.
She was the beloved wife of the late Fortunato "Jay" Schiavello; loving mother of Jay Schiavello (Terri), Maria Schiavello, Steven Schiavello (Shalisa), and Nicole Lockhart (Robert); dear sister of Rocco Defelice (Harriet); loving nana of Cristine, Daniel, Tess, Laura, Alan, Olivia, Tyler, Lauren, Kate, Carson, Cooper, and Jason; and adoring great-grandmother of Alison, Daniel, and Norah.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Viewing 5:00-7:00 PM Friday, October 19, 2018 at The Donohue Funeral Home, 1627 West Chester Pike, West Chester, PA 19382, 610-431-9000, followed by her Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM, Saturday at SS Simon & Jude Church, 8 Cavanaugh Ct., West Chester, PA. Interment SS Peter Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
